This piece is another study under the Mixed Breeds series that looks with an open lens at gender and ethnicity as an expression of being mixed. All of us are in some fashion mixed. According to Ancestry.com, I am 7 shades of white, so the differences are pretty subtle, but it’s still fascinating to explore.

I was also reading a fascinating article about how a group of scientists are looking at the opportunity to use advanced genetics to bring back some extinct animals including the wooly mammoth, the Tasmanian tiger, and (very exciting) the dodo. How cool would it be to have a dodo trundling about the back yard? Instagram would go nuts!
